There are some rumors flying about former Kardashian clan patriarch, Bruce Jenner. Bruce was once a world renowned athlete, and has been a star in the media since Keeping Up With The Kardashians came out. He is now the ex-husband of Kris Jenner, who is the mother of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, as well as Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
Some tabloids broke a story, saying that he has been getting plastic surgery and preparing for a gender transition. If Bruce is trans and decides to come out publicly, it would be a very historic moment. However, the media has gotten everything wrong about their coverage of the event, and all trans appreciators can learn from their mistakes. These tips will be helpful for your transgender dating experiences.
“Always let a trans person out themselves,” explains Dottie, who works for TSmeet.com. “When you’re introducing someone to your friends or your family, only out them if you have discussed things before, and if they are comfortable with everyone knowing their status. Otherwise you could make them feel extremely awkward!”
If you see someone in public and are not sure of their gender, it is best to keep it to yourself. If you’re going to interact with them, they would probably appreciate it if you ask them which gender pronouns they prefer. Sometimes it’s hard to remember which pronoun someone prefers, so if you mess up, don’t worry too much about it. Just try to get it right the next time.
If someone is in the process of transitioning, they will likely be feeling sensitive and vulnerable. Some of these tabloids are being more like a bully than a friend, and Bruce could probably use some friends right now. When all else fails, the golden rule goes for everyone and anyone: “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
