Can Someone Be Visibly Transgender?

Couple Enjoying Cocktails

I was filming a porn scene recently (I love being able to say that, and it be my personal truth) and one of the videographers was a lovely transgender gentleman I am friends with.

We have filmed a few wild and wacky sex scenes together, but not quite involving my penis… I fucked their lovely sweet voluptuous ass with a 7-inch fucksaw, actually! Fun. Fun. Fun times, I promise you that much. So yeah, I digress.

We were filming this porn scene between myself and this other nice non-binary lover, and it was scrumptious. As we were getting all cleaned up and stuff at the end of the body party, the trans man said something that took my mind to a new place. They said “I was with someone who was visibly trans, and they were being harassed…”

And I thought to myself, Wow, is it official now? That’s amazing! I was too busy talking about the incident with the person to sidetrack them and ask what it was defined by, but if someone out there could share that with us, that would be wonderful!

I see people who totally defy gender categorization, and I am open-minded and open-hearted to them, regardless of my comprehension of their gender presentation. I don’t care at all. But sometimes when I see someone who I think is trans, I wonder what to say. I don’t usually say anything, and wait for them to tell me what their identity choice is.

I like that there is a level of expression in the trans community that outwardly claims space in the world and says “I am visibly trans” on the level of “I am visibly black/queer/disabled/Asian/First Nation/Rastafarian/etc.” because anyone who doesn’t feel seen in this world needs to say “Fuck that shit! I’m here! Look at me in all my splendor and glory!”

So I heard my first story of someone being “visibly trans.” I’ve seen a few people who totally qualify for such designation, and I know that someone who I see that I think is trans might not quite be (they could be queer or gay or lesbian or just another gender variation that I haven’t learned as yet.)

This notion that humanity is a set monolith and that we aren’t going to learn new ways of living and existing is just ridiculous. I’m in full support of any notion of humanity that shows the diversity and depth and breadth and beauty of who we are!

In love,
Addi
