Sexy Girl in Movie Theatre

If you read my articles, you’ll note I put a somewhat favorable emphasis on movies and film reviews. And I certainly love watching trans-themed movies of all sorts: dramas, comedies, thrillers… wait, except for musicals. I hate musicals. But I had to include them because, well, other people do (for whatever reason) happen to enjoy them… But it’s been a while since I’ve written upon the topic of the celluloid screen – so, to this, I bring you some of the top trans films of all times:

Boys Don’t Cry (1999)

Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001)

Soldier’s Girl (2003)
The true story of a young soldier beaten to death for falling in love with a transgendered nightclub performer. (112 mins)

An Englishman in New York is a 2009 biographical drama film that chronicles the English gay writer Quentin Crisp’s later years spent in New York City. (75 mins)
Stars: John Hurt, Cynthia Nixon, Jonathan Tucker

And my absolute favorite:

Orlando (1992)
Young nobleman Orlando is commanded by Queen Elizabeth I to stay forever young. Miraculously, he does just that… (94 mins)
Stars: Tilda Swinton, Billy Zane, Quentin Crisp, John Bott

Caveat: this list, is by no means, THE official trans film list. Since we’re coming up on that time film festival time of year, I recommend hitting up the festival circuit in your town and making a list of gems of your own.
